FAR SOUTH BUSINESSES BOOMING
Business in the Far South is booming, with many businesses having had move to larger premises in the Southern Suburbs simply to keep up with their distribution requirements and customer demands. In the past few months local businesses such as Cherri Hire, Universal Vision Trading and Paracea Premium Vodka have had to expand their operations to much larger premises in the Capricorn Park and Retreat areas, despite trading in what many perceive to be a down economy. “It’s always great to see owner-operated businesses doing well,” says Len Pears, Director of Quagga Property Brokers. “And it’s particularly encouraging to see this bullish expansion.”
Universal Vision Trading which was founded in 2004 are importers, manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and exporters of high quality natural and organic nutritional products, focusing primarily on their Himalayan Crystal Salt product range, purchased a new 325m2 factory which includes 4 parking bays, situated at 19 Boulevard Way, Capricorn Business Park for R1, 938 000 inclusive.
Relative newcomer to the South African liquor industry, Paracea Premium Vodka, also recently moved to Capricorn Park from their humble beginnings in the Deep South. Having only opened their doors in November 2015 the plans for the company were quite simple, explains owner Bertram Strydom, “We want to grow and diversify as much as possible, but at the same time not lose our unique taste and style.” Paracea have signed a lease in Gateway Close.
Established in 2004 as a small family-run business to service the South Peninsula, Cherri Hire has expanded their business reach and opened a second outlet in the Southern Suburbs. The new 198m2 premises is situated at Unit 14 Celie Industrial Park in Retreat, close the Builders Warehouse Complex. The 3 year lease with a 3 year option is valued at R 602 468 inclusive over the lease period.
